Fink Introduces Election Reform Legislation

April 14, 2025

HARRISBURG – To address vulnerabilities and increase voting accessibility, Rep. Wendy Fink (R-Red Lion) recently introduced a package of election reform legislation.

Election integrity is one of Fink’s top priorities. The following bills demonstrate her commitment to ensuring Pennsylvania’s elections are free, fair and transparent.

House Bill 1158 would establish Election Day as a state holiday, ensuring schools and government offices are closed, so more Pennsylvanians can vote in person at an accessible polling place.
House Bill 1160 would require ballots to be randomly hand counted in a set number of precincts in each county, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
House Bill 1162 would bolster oversight of the mail-in and absentee ballot process by returning ballots to precincts where they will be kept on Election Day, providing an option for voters who are denied the ability to vote based on a record of having previously completed a mail-in-ballot.

“My election reform bills would not only bolster transparency and preserve the integrity of the elections process across the state, but they would also lessen the burden on our counties on Election Day,” said Fink. “I remain committed to educating the public and advocating for commonsense reforms like the ones I’ve introduced. It’s paramount Pennsylvanians know their elections are free, fair and administered properly to ensure faith in the voting process.”

Fink said, “I look forward to the consideration of these measures and being a strong voice for election integrity for my constituents and Pennsylvania residents.”

Questions about these bills, or any other state-related issue, can be directed to Fink’s office at 717-244-9232.
