Fink Legislation Would Pay Tribute to Local WWI Veteran
April 15, 2025
HARRISBURG — Rep. Wendy Fink (R-Red Lion) recently introduced legislation to designate a York County bridge in honor of PVT Myles Albert Ness, a veteran and resident of Windsor Township.
The York County native joined the U.S. Army in 1917 and served in the 6th Infantry Regiment. This regiment was part of the 5th Infantry Division during World War I, fighting in several campaigns, including the renowned Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
Ness was wounded in action but survived the war. He died on May 15, 1958, and is buried at the Zion United Methodist Church in Windsor Township.
“By drawing attention to the lives and legacies of local veterans, we can preserve their memory, as well as inspire patriotism and gratitude in future generations. I am grateful for the opportunity to pay tribute to a York Countian whose service shaped our history and has had a lasting impact on the community,” said Fink.
Questions about this initiative or any other state-related issue should be directed to Fink’s office at 717-244-9232.
