Phillips-Hill, Fink Announce Grants for Public Park Upgrades, Fire Department Improvements, Stormwater Runoff Mitigation

HARRISBURG – Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York Township) and Rep. Wendy Fink (R-Red Lion) today announced more than $1.3 million for five projects across southeastern York County.

“Rep. Fink and I collaborated to secure these much-needed funds to improve our local fire departments, and public parks, as well as address stormwater challenges impacting local citizens,” Phillips-Hill said.

“These investments will make a meaningful difference for families and communities across District 94," said Fink. "By strengthening infrastructure, from safer roads and improved stormwater systems to more reliable facilities for our volunteer fire companies, we’re helping our municipalities better serve residents and plan for the future."

The following projects received funding from the state:

- Lower Chanceford Township will receive $380,172 to purchase a new dump truck and backhoe, which will allow township staff to handle snow removal, salting the roads, excavation, pipe repairs, and other critical infrastructure upgrades.
- Lower Windsor Township will receive $374,792 on behalf of Southern Area Fire Emeregnecy Rescue to purchase several fire rescue equipment upgrades, including new fire hoses, nozzles, hydraulic rescue tools, emergency stabilization equipment (struts), air bags for emergency lifting operations, and air monitoring equipment.
- Springettsbury Township will receive $28,271 to purchase shade pavilions to be installed over two public playgrounds.
- Windsor Township will receive $398,273 on behalf of Alliance Fire and Rescue Services Inc. to upgrade aging infrastructure, including new concrete walls, stairs, and fencing at its station located at 201 W. Broadway.
- Yorkana Borough will receive $192,975 to enhance the stormwater runoff pathway on Yorkana Road to mitigate flooding and stormwater erosion in that area.

The projects were funded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Local Share Account program, which uses gaming revenue to support projects in the public interest across the commonwealth. The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
